Who Would Buy This: Home brewers shopping for a reliable, full-size kegorator for chilling and dispensing beers.
Pros:
The KRS2100 Kegorator is solidly constructed with robust materials for long lasting durability. The unit has a sleek black finish so it looks outstanding in any bar setting. The beer dispenser has a nice chrome guard rail with drip tray so any spillages won’t drip on your floor. The unit features four swivel caster wheels to provide excellent portability so you can brew wherever is most convenient with having to lift up the unit.
The Kegorator accommodates one full size ½ barrel key, one pony size keg or two 5 gallon kegs (D system). An empty 2.5-lb CO2 tank is included, so you will need to get it filled up before you can start using the machine.
An integrated double regulator allows you to regulate the PSI and the volume of Co2 in the cylinder. You can adjust the level of Co2 pressure easily with just a turn of a knob. The regulator features a relieve value to reset the pressure which comes in handy when you are making adjustments.
The adjustable thermostat allows you to control the temperature between 30-40 degrees F. This is controlled at the back of the unit so you don’t need to open the door when you want to modify the temperature.
Cons:
Certain kegs are awkward to fit, such as Coors kegs which have irregular shapes. However, one user found that placing a 1-inch board then cutting it to fit at the bottom, allowed a Coors keg to fit in OK.
Customer service isn’t up to scratch as many customers have stated so we recommend you thoroughly read the consumer reviews to become familiarized with the best practices for attaining satisfactory performance.
Guarantee: 90-day limited warranty.
Summary
Despite a few drawbacks, the Nostalgia Electrics KRS2100 Kegorator Beer Keg Fridge is a terrific kegorator that has won consumers over. For value, this fridge comes out on top by some distance.
A lot of consumer complaints were for the older version of this model, but there has since been an update of this model released in 2011 which resolved many common issues such as improving the poor quality instructions and adding a dual gauge regulator.
